My wife
Parker and I have been reading about all the devastation throughout the south since the levee's broke in New Orleans last Tuesday and unleashed hell on earth for tens of thousands of people. We talked at great length about the suffering and anguish of the people as well.
Today, however, was finally the day I decided to actually stop talking about how terrible everything is over there and instead am now actively
doing something to make it better.
Please help me.
I am collecting clothing donations of all genders and sizes from anyone and everyone I know, and even people I don't know, so that we can send or deliver, literally, tons of clothing to those across the south in need of the most basic form of shelter: clothing.
Go through your closet. If you have something to spare, please get in touch with me and I'll make sure it gets to those affected by Katrina.
Here's what Parker and I gathered out of our own closets.
This is a copy of the email I sent out to my 150+ newsletter readers, a few hundred REALTORS® and hopefully if forwarded as asked, at least a couple thousand former Qualcomm co-workers.
With any luck, you've already read it.

I promise this will be my one and only request on the matter.
As you know, Katrina has caused economic devastation throughout the south beyond measure. I won't bore you with details you already know.
What I will remind you is that people need clothing. Parker and I have each gone through our closets without mercy and are donating anything we can to those who have nothing. Shirts, shorts, pants, shoes, jackets - if you can wear it, we're donating it - and making sure it gets sent directly to those across the south who need it most in the coming weeks and months.
If you have only one shirt you can do without, or tons of clothing you feel you can part with, please call or email me. Put a bag, or ten, together and I will arrange a time to personally come to your home or business to pick it up. My contact info is below.
Please pass this along to anyone you know in San Diego that may have clothing they can spare and ask them get in touch with me.
Dixie, if you could forward this to all the Prudential agents in our offices, your help in getting this message out would be indispensable.
To my friends and former co-workers at Qualcomm, please post this in the Classifieds or other appropriate forum to reach the largest audience.
Thank you all for your time and incredible generosity in this undertaking.
